In summer 2023, volunteers and contributors to the Prairie Pest Monitoring Network helped collect annual monitoring data across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba for several important insect pests of field crops. These data, with an emphasis on the results in Alberta, are presented here and summarize the best estimate of the current distribution and population densities of these insects. Predictions and inferences for the insect pest outlook in 2024 will also be presented, based on what we know of the biology of these insects and the results of the 2023 monitoring results.
