Speaker Bio
Dr. (Kevin) Floate grew up mainly on the Prairies, which has given him a particular fondness for trees, rivers and the many insects that live on the landscape. He obtained a BSc (Agriculture) and a MSc (Biology) from the University of Saskatchewan, followed by a PhD (Zoology) from Northern Arizona University. Since 1993, he has been employed as an insect ecologist by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Lethbridge, Alberta.
