Description
This presentation will examine the interactions between agricultural practices and water processes in Canadian Prairies farming systems. It will discuss how hydrological processes in winter (snow redistribution, melt, frozen soil infiltration, and runoff) and the growing season processes (infiltration and runoff, and crop water use) vary spatially across fields due to topography and soil properties. By gaining a deeper understanding of these processes, their spatial dynamics, and tools to manage and quantify these ag-water interactions producers can make better informed decisions to optimise crop production strategies.
