Randy Kutcher is a professor and strategic research program (SRP) chair for the Cereal and Flax pathology program at the Crop Development Centre, Department of Plant Sciences, U of S. His research focus is on cereal and flax diseases. With his graduate students, he has researched stripe rust of wheat since 2011; other cereal diseases of interest include Fusarium head blight, bacterial leaf streak and leaf spot diseases of cereals. He teaches field crop pathology to third year undergraduate students. In a previous career, Randy was a research scientist at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, where his research program was on disease mitigation in oilseed crops (canola) within the integrated crop management program.
