Kochia is not a new weed on the Prairies but it's typically been a problem in the southern parts of the provinces. These days we are finding kochia spread nearly all the way across Alberta and farmers who were previously way north of the typical kochia range are now dealing with this weed in their fields. We'll discuss where kochia is now being found, why it's spreading, some basic ID and the need to make farmers aware that this former southern issue is now a province-wide challenge.
